murthy
Brother Murthy is a well-respected pastor in Coimbatore, a city in south India with about 1.5 million people. He's the president of a local pastors fellowship which meets together monthly to encourage one another in the ministry. Murthy has a compassionate heart towards the poor, and towards the needs of the local pastors who often struggle with physical and ministerial needs. Besides his own family needs, Brother Murthy uses the funds that RHM gives him to help his church members, occasionally to assist Christian widows, and to assist other pastors with some of the needs that may be in their families or ministries.
In the photo above is a small church/home of a pastor named Jeevadurai. He is part of Murthy's pastors fellowship. Jeevadurai had what seemed to be a financially secure future with his father's business, but when he felt the call to the ministry, his father refused to assist him in any way. It's been a struggle, but the Lord has enabled their ministry to grow. This photo is from early 2006 when God used RHM to help Jeevadurai to get the water connection for their property, and later to help provide the electricity for their place. Praise the Lord for allowing us to be a part in these precious people's lives.
Remember David in the Bible when he was a shepherd, faithful to watch his father's sheep? Do you think the religious leaders of his day would have ever recognized the favor of God upon his life while he was simply doing his duty in the fields? Even the prophet Samuel would have missed the Lord's call upon David's life if the Spirit had not spoken directly to him. So it is today: while Christian leaders and organizations are looking for credentials and degrees, there are multitudes of poor Godly shepherds, faithfully watching over His sheep. Overlooked, unrecognized by the eyes of man, they cry out to the Lord to meet the needs of their families, and to fulfill the desires they have for ministry. We're thankful that the One Who "looks at the heart" (1Samuel 16:7) is using RHM to assist a few of these Godly shepherds. May He use us to help many more!
